Anyone? Why is it that humans need to understand a world which they cannot? It drives some to insanity. Eh...I mean, 'absurdity.' Does absurdity remove the so-called hopeful tomorrow, which merely is another day closer to death? Are we, ourselves, a modern-day Sisyphus? Working meaningless jobs, condemned to perform the same tasks daily, pushing our boulders up an unconquerable hill, day-in and day-out. Or perhaps, Sisyphus does resemble the hope of a new day. I can almost picture him, marching back down the hill feeling, not defeated, but eager to make yet another attempt to escape such a fate, hopeful that today might just be the day he sees the other side.

Well........... I don't know much about Sisyphe, but I do know that life is what you make it. Humans need to know where they are going, or else they will go round in circles, and get little accomplished. However, lofty goals are not essential to living a complete, and fulfilling life. it sounds like ol' Sis is just a complete downer, and would rather grumble about the Escargot not having enough garlic, than appreciate that he has food at all.

"As a punishment from the gods for his trickery, Sisyphus was compelled to roll a huge rock up a steep hill, but before he could reach the topof the hill, the rock would always roll back down again, forcing him to begin again. The maddening nature of the punishment was reserved for Sisyphus due to his hubristic belief that his cleverness surpassed that of Zeus. Sisyphus took the bold step of reporting one of Zeus's sexual conquests, telling the river god Asopus of the whereabouts of his daughter Aegina. Zeus had taken her away, but regardless of the impropriety of Zeus's frequent conquests, Sisyphus overstepped his bounds by considering himself a peer of the gods who could rightfully report their indiscretions. As a result, Zeus displayed his own cleverness by binding Sisyphus to an eternity of frustration. Accordingly, pointless or interminable activities are often described as Sisyphean."

So...... instead of being a downer, the had downerness thrust upon him. Lesson learned? You don't tug on Superman's cape...........

Ha, aye. Which is why I wonder why the human race strives so terribly to understand that which they cannot? Why is it such an obsession?

Why? Because humans are aware that there are only unknowns until someone discovers the answer. We are self aware entities, and have the ego to pursue useless endevours. Why go powersailing? What purpose does it serve? Why? Just cuz............
