Worse than tobacco, or alcohol? I don't think I could do that. Equally as bad? Possibly...but in a different way... Marijuana is a mind, and body altering susbtance, and, as such, removes you from reality in one way ,or another. It could be just a stretch of a minute to feel like 5 minutes. It could be a strenghtening of sugar tolerance. It could be just a happy feeling from your fingertips to your earlobes, making you horny, or just hungry.. If used in moderation ( no, I don't mean like just once a day, I mean like once a weekend LOL) it could be harmless. Unfortunately, people who enjoy a high will not settle on just getting high when they are free from all other obligations, but enjoy the high just for the sake of the high. Anytime a person's reality is obscured, or the perception of of reality is blurred, there is a danger that a person may act, or react differently than when not under the influence. This is the danger with alcohol.. Tobacco is more insidious, it damages you slowly with inhalation. It took 400 years to link cigarettes to lung cancer, and the doctors are still out about marijuana, and cancer. I would imagine that at least one of you reading this might be high, right now. Now, can you prove to me that it is BETTER than alohol, or tobacco?

More harmful? No. However, I agree with luthersnail. The key is moderation, and lots of research. Marijuana is considered a mild psychoactive (very mild, mind you), and as such, poses the same risks as any psychoactive. If you've family history of addiction, or mental illnesses such as schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder, marijuana is probably not the best thing for you to be doing, as it can trigger the onset of such illnesses. However, as far as physical health, definately not. Although there is an o.d. limit on it, it's physically impossible to acheive. And, though there seem to be loads of "studies" out there claiming that marijuana has a higher amount of tar than tobacco, there are lower amounts of tar in marijuana, not nearly as much as what's in commercial tobacco. Also, this health risk can be completely eliminated by vaporizing or eating you pot. This was a good watch for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvUgJEhQ5cY Completely off-topic, but Ron Mann also has another great film on psychoactives, "Know Your Mushrooms." Either way, you should also check out the book "The Emporer Wears no Clothes." I don't much feel like getting into much of the history of why marijuana was made out to be the devil weed, as it's long and impertainent, but this book is great on telling it all.
